Senior Manager/Associate Director to Equity Partner – Business Services

We have an exclusive search brief from one of our long-standing clients in the CA sector in Auckland. The firm is entering a succession-planning mode for one of the senior partners and our consultancy has been engaged to conduct searches for a suitable candidate.
We are looking for a self-starter with proven client and team management competencies and experience. Our client brief is somewhat broad, and we are keen to hear from high-end senior managers to high-end associated directors or even salaried directors looking for equity ownership potential in the short to medium term.
You may even have a small client base of your own, which you can bring over with you, as a kick-starter in the period leading to the succession being fully completed. However, having an existing client portfolio is not a requirement for this role.
Our client is not after a rainmaker who will be out seeking new work opportunities every day, as you will take over a sizeable and well-established client base.
The ability to nourish and manage successful client relationships as well as develop and lead professionals at different stages of their careers is essential. Your ability to grow organically the existing client base will be equally important.
Naturally, at this level we are looking for a chartered accountant who will not just get the numbers right. We are after a commercially savvy senior managerial professional who can make sense of numbers and advise clients on strategies, whether they are growth-related, tax-driven or focus on risk mitigation – whatever the case may be.
Our ideal candidate is likely to be a senior business services manager or an associate director/or salaried director at sizeable (possibly a mid-tier or similar) firm. At the upper end for this role, the successful candidate may even have a small client base of their own.
Our client is an established and highly profitable firm and can assist the appointed candidate in various ways to finance the share acquisition to minimise the financial impact.
The firm has experience in this area, having already completed successfully similar transactions not that long ago.
