Lower North Island Regional Manager

THE OPPORTUNITY
As a key member of QV's national Rating leadership team, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering complex, large-scale valuation programmes while driving continuous improvement and innovation in how we work. You'll work directly with local government clients, industry stakeholders, and internal leaders to ensure our services are future-ready, efficient, and always adding value.
At the same time, you'll nurture and develop a talented team of valuation professionals — helping them grow while fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration. You'll be instrumental in identifying new business opportunities, supporting national initiatives, and influencing strategic direction at both regional and national levels.
This is the perfect role for someone who thrives on variety, values autonomy, and is energised by purpose-driven leadership. You don't need to have a background in valuation or property to be successful in this role.
This is more than a leadership role — it's a chance to leave your mark on an essential industry that affects every ratepayer and council in the country.
WORKING HERE
We're an ambitious property insights business investing in our future. Our goal is to revolutionise how property information is shared and experienced, to enable our customers to make better decisions. 100% New Zealand owned, QV is focused on its customers and they're at the heart of what we do. As a State-Owned Enterprise, we're proud to help our local communities.
Our people are vital to our success. That's why we're proud to offer flexible working arrangements, enabling people to fit work around their busy life schedule. Offering a competitive remuneration package and professional development, supporting our people to reach their full potential.
We value you.
WHY CHOOSE US?
Because we value more than just property…
We Value Wellbeing: Work in a connected workplace alongside leaders who genuinely care about your wellbeing. Enjoy flexible hours and a great range of excellent health and wellbeing benefits.
We Value Whānau: That's why we provide generous sick leave and support for you and your whanau, so you can achieve the right work/home balance.
We Value Learning: The best mentoring and coaching in the industry, ongoing development, and interesting varied career experiences.
We Value You: our people mean the world to us. We champion a kind and inclusive company culture that values you personally and professionally, with competitive remuneration and options to suit you.
Our values of In-sync, Future Fit, and Rock Solid represent both who we are today and who we aspire to be. We are a tight team with a shared purpose, we are driving change to disrupt the game, and we're seriously good at what we do.
ABOUT YOU What you're responsible for
As Regional Manager, you'll wear many hats — strategic leader, team coach, client partner, and operational driver. Here's what your day-to-day will involve:
- Lead the delivery of rating valuation services across your region, ensuring high-quality outcomes that meet or exceed contractual obligations.
- Empower and grow a high-performing team – providing coaching, development pathways, and creating a culture where people thrive.
- Build strong client and stakeholder relationships with local authorities and industry bodies, positioning QV as a trusted and proactive partner.
- Drive operational excellence by streamlining processes, leveraging new technologies, and embedding best practice across your team.
- Champion continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, lift service delivery, and grow capability.
- Collaborate across QV, working closely with Revaluation, Quality Assurance, and other national teams to deliver cohesive, future-focused outcomes.
- Manage budgets and financial performance, aligning resources to priorities, and making smart commercial decisions that support sustainable growth.
- Represent your region on strategic initiatives, contribute to national projects, and help shape the future of rating valuation at QV.
- Act as a market voice, occasionally fronting media and stakeholder discussions on property trends and insights.
- Lead with purpose – driving engagement, wellbeing, inclusion and performance at all levels.
Your skills & experience
- You don't need to come from a valuation or property background to be successful in this role, however an understanding of these industries is an added bonus.
- Proven leadership experience in complex, fast-paced environments.
- Commercial and operational acumen – with a strong grasp of budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking
- The ability to lead through change and inspire others on the journey
- Strategic thinking combined with a practical, hands-on approach
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
- A natural curiosity, a drive to improve, and a passion for helping others grow
The preferred location for this role is Wellington; however, other North Island locations may be considered.
