Purchasing and Inventory Control Specialist

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Purchasing and Inventory Control Specialist to join our operations team. This position plays a key role in ensuring that the company's supply chain runs smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for sourcing materials, maintaining supplier relationships, managing stock levels, and supporting production needs to meet business goals.
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has strong analytical and negotiation skills, and can balance cost control with quality assurance. You will collaborate closely with the production, sales, and finance teams to forecast needs, prevent stock shortages, and streamline purchasing processes.
Responsibilities- Source and purchase raw materials, trims, and packaging required for manufacturing operations.
- Negotiate with suppliers to achieve favorable pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors to ensure consistent quality and reliability.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock counts to identify discrepancies.
- Monitor usage trends and work with production teams to forecast raw material requirements.
- Analyze sales and production data to plan purchasing cycles and avoid overstocking or stockouts.
- Coordinate with finance to align purchasing activities with cash flow and budget goals.
- Recommend and implement improvements to purchasing and inventory systems for greater efficiency.
- Provide regular updates on supplier performance, material availability, and inventory status.
- Proven experience in purchasing, inventory control, or supply chain management (preferably in apparel or manufacturing).
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Solid understanding of inventory forecasting, stock rotation, and purchasing processes.
- Proficiency with Excel and inventory or ERP systems.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
