Christchurch Central, New Zealand Venues Ōtautahi Full time NZ$45,000 - NZ$55,000 per year

About Us

One New Zealand Stadium is less than a year away from opening and we're entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation. Venues Ōtautahi is thrilled to commence recruiting for a number of key roles across the business who will play a critical part in ensuring the successful launch and long-term success of the stadium, and ultimately bring the stadium to life

Venues Ōtautahi own the Christchurch Town Hall and Wolfbrook Arena and manage Apollo Projects Stadium, Hagley Oval, the Air Force Museum of New Zealand, and One New Zealand Stadium. Venues Ōtautahi venues attract and host a wide range of over 500 events in Christchurch and manage a diverse and iconic portfolio of community venues.

Venues Ōtautahi's purpose is to strategically manage and leverage the venues to deliver positive social, cultural, environmental and economic impact to the region. These iconic city venues play a valued role to the Christchurch way of life and the economic prosperity and social wellbeing of the region.

About the Role

Venues Ōtautahi invites applications for Venue Set Up Coordinator. As part of our Venue Set Up team, you will provide a range of back-of-house and front-of-house event support services across multiple venues to ensure seamless operations.

The role is integral to meeting client expectations and managing event-day changes in a safe, professional and timely manner. Working closely with our casual event delivery team, providing support and guidance to ensure productivity and efficiency.

Flexibility is essential, as the role operates within a seven-day event schedule and may include shift work, evenings, and weekends to support a wide range of events, from concerts to conferences and all other events in between across our venue portfolio.

Key responsibilities of the position are as follows:

  • Undertake and complete the set up and pack out of all events as per the requirements of the Event and/or Venue Manager
  • Respond to event day change requests from clients or other Venues Ōtautahi team members in a safe, professional and helpful manner
  • Ensure goods are recorded, secured and on hand for the client at pack-in time and for dispatch at the conclusion of the event
  • Provide hands-on leadership to our casual crew, prior, during and post events
  • Support the Venue Logistics Team Leader to ensure accurate equipment counts and other logistics requirements are recorded

From concerts to conferences and all other events in between, the Venue Set Up Coordinators make sure every event is set up to perfection. The logistics of operating multiple venues can be challenging and fast-paced work, so we're looking for punctual team players who can think on their feet and get stuck in.

About you

The Venue Set Up Coordinator, like all roles at Venues Ōtautahi, is a hands-on role and will involve evenings and weekend work to meet the needs of our event schedule.

This role will suit someone who is physically fit, has great attention to detail and is comfortable with manually handling. You will be a self-starter and no doubt be keen to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in

We act with aspiration, agility, kindness and are driven to take care of the venues to make them places of pride and delight for everyone.

If this sounds like you, we want to hear from you. Help us bring the energy before the first whistle blows

Applications close 29 October 2025
