A little bit about the role…

We are looking for an Intermediate Graphic Designer to join our Creative Services Team at our Support Office in Christchurch. As an Intermediate Graphic Designer at Kathmandu, you will be an integral member of the Creative Services Team. We are looking for someone who can collaborate, contribute and is ready to roll up their sleeves from day one. In this role you will design and produce artwork across various media, maintaining brand consistency and a high standard of work. As part of the wider marketing team, you will have a desire to go above and beyond for the best outcomes for any given project. You will bring strong digital design skills, developing engaging assets for web, social media, and other digital platforms to enhance Kathmandu's online presence. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, who can manage multiple projects. You need to be proactive, passionate and have a broad knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.

Key Responsibilities...

  • Produce cohesive designs across all media, maintaining brand consistency.
  • Develop an understanding of our target audience and produce relevant and appealing creative that aligns with the brand's edit point.
  • Collaborate extensively with marketing and digital teams on projects to drive them forward to completion
  • Design and deliver compelling digital assets including website visuals, promotional graphics, and online campaign materials tailored for retail audiences.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, ecommerce, and brand teams to translate business goals into impactful digital design solutions.
  • Maintain brand consistency across all digital channels, ensuring every design element reflects the retail brand identity and performs seamlessly.
  • Coordinate design rollouts with campaign launches, guaranteeing digital collateral is published on schedule and aligned with seasonal retail calendars.
  • Apply meticulous attention to detail in typography, imagery, and layout to deliver polished, highquality digital experiences.
  • Assist in the preparation of in-store visual materials, such as point-of-sale posters and displays.
  • Collaborate on in-store design features as required, aligning them with brand aesthetics and customer preference

What you'll need…

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field.
  • Some experience (2-5 years) in graphic design roles, with a portfolio showcasing creative designs.
  • Familiarity with design software and tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
  • Ai experience in concepting useful
  • Experience in retail / FMCG an advantage, but not essential
  • Knowledge of design principles and trends.
  • Video editing experience, not essential but highly desirable.
