He angitūtanga: The opportunity
We have an exciting fixed term opportunity to join the Community Wellbeing team as Manager Community Place Arts – Lopdell House Precinct, Titirangi.
In your role, and in conjunction with the Lopdell Trust, you will manage the day to day operational functions at the Lopdell House Precinct and develop and grow visitor numbers and revenue by building relationships / partnerships with key stakeholder groups including community groups, corporate organisations, the arts sector, and local community.

A key component of this role is to develop strategy to improve the visibility and profile of the Lopdell Precinct to attract more visitors and make the centre a destination of choice for locals, and Auckland-wide visitors.
Ngā kawenga matua: Key responsibilities
- Ensure delivery of the day-to-day operations of the Lopdell House Precinct in a safe working environment
- Liaise with the Lopdell House Trust on overall operations and facility maintenance
- Liaise with commercial tenants and Art partners within the precinct
- Promote hire spaces and theatre as community venues to increase visitor numbers and revenue
- Deliver programming and events that support local community activities and the arts sector

Please note: This position is fixed term until July 2027 to cover a secondment, and you will be required to start in December 2025.

Key skills/experience we will be looking for:
- Experience in the arts, culture, or creative sectors, with a background in facilities/asset management or leading customer-focused teams.
- Strong customer service and administration skills, ideally supported by a relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. asset management, business, arts, or creative fields).
- Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills, with a current driver's licence and flexibility to work weekends.
- Understanding of Māori relationships in Tāmaki Makaurau, including knowledge of local iwi and culturally significant sites.
