Graduate Role
Auckland | Full-time | Start Date: Early January
We are looking for a highly motivated Graduate Engineer to join our fast-growing product development team. This is a unique role blending hands-on testing, engineering design, compliance, and real-world site experience across our full range of Glass Vice, Anchorjak and J-Vice systems.
You will be working alongside our technical team, installers, and product development teams to bring new systems to market that meet (and exceed) NZ building code requirements.
This role is ideal for someone practical, curious, and excited to build, break, test, and continually improve innovative construction products.
What You'll Be Doing1. Product Development & Innovation - we lead the marker in our field and are continuing to create patented systems that bring real value to installers, architects and customers.
- Assisting in the design, refinement, and development of new products across aluminium, stainless steel, timber construction and glass systems.
- Prototyping and validating concepts using CAD, 3D printing, and fabrication methods.
- Supporting the improvement of existing systems through mechanical testing, data analysis, and performance reviews.
- Conducting physical load testing of new and existing products to meet NZ Building Code requirements (B1, B2, F9, and relevant AS/NZS standards).
- Preparing technical data to support PS1 documentation used by architects and supplied to councils.
- Working closely with third-party Chartered Engineers to verify testing, engineering calculations, and certification.
- Your first month will be spent on-site with our installation teams to gain deep product knowledge.
- You will learn how our systems are used in real projects — balustrades, pool fencing, decking structures, aluminium screens, and mechanical fixings.
- This practical grounding is essential for understanding why we engineer the way we do.
- Building and breaking your own prototypes and existing products to understand load paths, failure points, and optimisation opportunities.
- Documenting results and feeding improvements back into design.
- Operating hydraulic rams, custom jigs, and load-testing rigs (full training provided).
Required Qualifications
- Engineering degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Civil/Structural, or Physics/Materials Science
- Qualified to work in New Zealand
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
- A practical mindset and willingness to get hands-on
- Experience using hand tools, carpentry, or basic fabrication
- Stress analysis or basic structural design exposure
- 2D/3D CAD experience (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, or similar)
- 3D printing (FDM or resin)
- Welding or metalwork skills
- Knowledge of NZ Building Code and relevant structural/timber/metal standards
- Any exposure to engineering testing environments
We provide strong on-the-job training, and you will work directly with senior engineers and product developers.
Why Join Us?- Work on market-leading products used nationwide and internationally.
- Real ownership over testing, product development, and compliance.
- Hands-on, fast-paced environment where you see your engineering make immediate impact.
- Grow into a key engineering role as we scale our wholesale and product ranges across NZ, Australia, and the USA.
- Be part of a company where innovation, speed, and quality matter.
- Great team culture, supportive environment, and career development opportunities.
