About the Role
The role oversees a team that provides timely financial assurance reporting, equity drawdowns, and funding reconciliations for projects exceeding $50 million, while providing monthly updates to asset portfolio leads, Senior Responsible Owners, and Deputy Chief Executives. With high public and political visibility, these projects are critical to achieving Health NZ's strategic outcomes. The manager and team deliver expert financial advice to Steering Committees, ensure decisions align with delegated authority, manage contingency drawdowns, liaise with insurers on contract works policies, and conduct financing due diligence for major construction contracts.
This also involves preparing accurate reports and recommendations for stakeholders, process Health Capital Envelope claims promptly, and collaborate with project and assurance teams to provide reliable reporting and cashflow phasing, thereby supporting effective financial oversight of major monitored projects.
About the Team
The Major Infrastructure and National Projects Manager is responsible for leading a team of project accountants to ensure best practice financial management across major infrastructure facilities projects and national capital programmes, collectively valued at around $7 billion.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- A relevant teritary qualification or equivalent experience
- 5+ years' experience in financial analysis and reporting, with a proven track record of ensuring the timely completion of financial assurance reports for project
- Experience collaborating with project and assurance monitoring teams to ensure accurate reporting and cashflow phasing information is delivered.
- Able to provide finance business partner support to SROs and Project Governance Committees, ensuring compliance with the DFA policy and the IIG delegations.
- Good understanding of financial controls and procedures with experience in validating financial reports and drawdown claims to mitigate risks associated with financial reporting and funding reconciliation.
- Chartered Accountant or equivalent membership of a professional accounting association
