Why This Role Matters

Cyber threats are evolving fast—and so are we. To strengthen our capability, we're creating an additional Senior Security Engineer role to join our growing security team. This is a new position, working alongside our existing Senior Security Engineer, to help us scale and innovate.

You'll be at the heart of our mission to protect businesses nationwide designing and optimising our custom SIEM platform, solving complex security challenges, and shaping the future of managed security services in New Zealand.

How You'll Make a Difference

  • Design and evolve cutting-edge SIEM infrastructure using Elastic Stack to deliver scalable, high-performance security solutions.
  • Optimise and secure Linux-based environments to ensure resilience, reliability, and peak performance.
  • Create and fine-tune advanced detection rules and dashboards, while solving complex challenges escalated from the SOC.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver technical insights and present innovative solutions to clients.
  • Lead automation initiatives and develop robust documentation that drives efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Take ownership during critical moments by participating in an on-call roster for major incidents and platform support.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • 7–10 years in IT engineering roles, with 5+ years in security.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Elastic Stack and Linux systems.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, VPNs).
  • Scripting skills (Bash, Python or similar).
  • Ability to work collaboratively and present technical insights to customers.

Desirable:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Exposure to MSSP environments, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools (Git, Ansible).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO
