We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Drainage Foreperson to join our team at HEB Construction to lead our crew on various projects around the Wellington region. As a Foreperson, you will assist the Supervisor in ensuring that all crew members are safely, effectively and efficiently completing their work in line with client specification.

You must be a strong leader with excellent critical thinking skills, as you will be a key point of contact for the crew and will report back to the Supervisor on all operational activities. A focus on health and safety is imperative to this role, as you must assist in driving a strong safety culture in all day-to-day operations.

Foreperson responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Setting out and planning daily site activities
  • Supervising trenching, pipe laying, backfilling, and final connections
  • Maintaining OH&S standards and documentation
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to less experienced team members
  • Operating machinery or assisting on tools when required
  • This is a hands-on foreman role suited to someone who enjoys both leadership and practical site work.

Our ideal applicants will have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in the operation of plant, Class 2 and WTR
  • Relevant industry experience and qualifications in drainage and civil works
  • Proven experience leading crews on site
  • Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
  • Be a team player
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and lead by example.
