They are a proudly staff-owned firm, driven by delivering exceptional outcomes for their clients, while fostering a collaborative, ambitious, and forward-thinking culture.

We are now commencing a search for a newly created Head of Compliance to lead the compliance function and help shape the future of compliance and assurance at Milford.

Why this role matters

Milford is experiencing strong, sustained expansion and has set its sights on ambitious future growth. As the organisation enters a more mature phase, building resilience and driving efficiency have become essential. To support this evolution, systems and processes must advance, with compliance playing a pivotal enabling role.

This position goes beyond traditional oversight; it's about cultivating a culture where compliance and conduct are viewed as integral to everyday success. • Ensure all compliance frameworks are kept in alignment with regulatory requirements
  • Oversee compliance assurance programs, QA testing, and training.
  • Lead compliance incident responses the moment they arise, ensuring fast, clear, and pragmatic responses.
  • Manage a small team of compliance and assurance professionals.

  • Work closely with leaders across the business to balance regulatory expectations with commercial outcomes - setting the business up to succeed while maintaining the highest standards.

Who we are looking for

We want someone who is technically excellent whilst being practical, commercially attuned, and confident leading a high-performing team. You'll thrive if you bring:

  • 10+ years' experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory roles in financial services.
  • Deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven ability to translate legal regulation into real-world processes and outcomes.
  • A mindset of pragmatism and continuous improvement coupled with the ability to lead a high performing team.
  • The interpersonal skill to uplift compliance culture without being heavy-handed.

Why join Milford?

At Milford, people succeed by being client focused, collaborative, outcome-driven, respectful, and a little different – embracing innovation and individuality. We are a high-performance business where resilience, adaptability and pragmatism are celebrated.
