We are looking for a skilled and proactive Horticulture GAP Auditor to support our grower community in achieving and maintaining NZGAP and GLOBAL G.A.P. certification. This is a hands-on, relationship-focused role that directly contributes to food safety, sustainability and market access for our group of companies. The Role is:
flexible – part-time or contract based.
field-based across Auckland and Northland (travel required, vehicle allowance provided).
What You'll Do
Conduct timely, high-quality NZGAP and GLOBALG.A.P. grower inspections (including add-ons such as GRASP, Environmental Plans and Water Management)
Guide and support growers to attain and retain certification – both within our Grower Group and those using independent certification bodies
Build strong, collaborative relationships with growers
Write clear reports, manage non-conformance close-outs and meet all critical reporting timeframes
Handle grower group complaints and participate in external certification inspections
Provide timely and practical compliance advice
You'll Need
Prior NZGAP and/or GLOBALG.A.P. auditing experience is an advantage
In-depth knowledge of food safety, social practice and environmental requirements in horticulture
Strong organisational, communication and relationship-building skills
Full driver's license and willingness to travel regularly throughout Auckland–Northland
Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
Post high school diploma in a discipline related to the scope of certification (plants and or agriculture); or
an agricultural high school qualification with 2 years of experience in the relevant scope after qualification; or
any other high school qualification with 3 years of sector specific experience (example farm management, including own operations in the relevant product; commercial consultant in the relevant product; field experience relevant to specific products)
Participation in educational opportunities relevant to the scope of certification such as a one-day practical audit training certificate and HACCP training would be advantageous.
