Overview

The company is seeking to appoint a Supply Chain Manager at our East Tamaki site.  Reporting to the Director of Operations & Supply Chain, this role will be responsible for managing the end-to-end supply chain operations for New Zealand and Australia, including SIOP, warehousing, logistics, procurement, production scheduling, forecasting, and inventory. Provides hands-on leadership to ensure daily execution and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

SIOP

  • Lead the monthly SIOP cycle to align Sales, Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Supply Chain for accurate demand and supply plans.
  • Manage demand planning and forecasting using historical data and business insights to improve accuracy.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Marketing to refine forecasts for new product launches.
  • Balance inventory and production capacity to meet OTIF targets while minimizing working capital and obsolescence.
  • Present SIOP dashboards and KPIs to senior leadership, highlighting risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
  • Drive best practices and analytics to enhance SIOP maturity and operational excellence.

Sourcing, Inventory Control & Supplier Relationship Management

  • Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Leadership – Lead supplier selection, contract negotiation, and ensuring cost-effective, timely delivery of raw materials and components.
  • Cost Optimization & Sustainability – Drives continuous improvement and value engineering initiatives while embedding ethical and sustainable sourcing practices.
  • Risk Management & Supply Continuity – Implements proactive strategies to mitigate supply chain risks and minimize business disruption.
  • Inventory Control & Accuracy – Oversees inventory planning, lead times, reorder quantities, and annual stock turn targets, ensuring precision through cycle counts and alignment with promotional plans.
  • Supplier Relationship Management – Builds and maintains strong partnerships with suppliers, negotiates favourable terms, and conducts regular performance reviews to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Operational Excellence – Champions process improvements and control programs that enhance efficiency and support business objectives.

Production Planning

  • Develop and continuously improve procedures for material planning, inventory management, demand forecasting, master scheduling, and supplier development to drive operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and implement planning and forecasting tools; lead process and system reengineering for supply chain planning and execution.
  • Review 12-month rolling production capacity and recommend actions to address gaps.

Logistics and Transportation

  • Oversee daily operations of AU & NZ 3PL partners.
  • Control distribution costs, recommending sustainable cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Ensure 3PL compliance with all legislative requirements.
  • Build strong, reliable partnerships to achieve OTIF targets.

IT/Software Proficiency

  • MS Office Intermediate to advanced level (Excel/Word/Outlook/PPT) essential.
  • Experience with ERP essential, knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics and Power BI highly desirable.

Education / Skills Experience

  • Strong planning, organizational, and analytical ability
  • Proven leadership in SIOP and production planning (chemical/liquid packaging)
  • Collaborative, cross-functional relationship-building
  • Strategic problem-solving with a customer-first mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
  • Skilled in mentoring and motivating teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Adaptable and responsive to change
  • Experience with chemical handling and dangerous goods (HASNO, GHS7)
  • APICS/NZPICS or equivalent certification
  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Supply Chain (preferred)
