Are you passionate about climate risk, data analytics, and making a real impact? ASB is seeking a talented Stress Test Model Specialist to lead the development of climate stress test models and drive innovative solutions in credit risk management.

You will communicate and present the results of models, with the ability to clearly explain findings and engage stakeholders effectively. Strong presentation skills and stakeholder engagement would be highly advantageous, as they will help you deliver impactful insights across multiple portfolios.

Te Tūranga | The role:

  • Lead and deliver climate stress test modelling and related projects across retail and non-retail portfolios.
  • Simplify complex models into actionable insights and key themes for business stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Provide insightful analysis and reporting to support climate-related financial disclosures.
  • Continuously improve models, processes, and reporting to enhance efficiency and control.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver bespoke solutions.
  • Present findings and drive discussions in forums and committees.
  • Stay up to date with emerging approaches in climate scenario analysis and stress testing.

  • Experience in credit risk management with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Tertiary qualification in Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, or Data Science.
  • Advanced skills in SAS, SQL, and/or Python.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Strong priority setting and time management abilities.
  • Interest in climate financial risk and experience with PowerBI (desirable).
