Te ūkaipō o te whare pūmau i ngā taonga tuku iho
Tomo mai ki te whare i whakaarahia i roto i te pā tūwatawata o ngā tūmanako.
Mō mātou | About us:
Te Puia is situated within the historic Te Whakarewarewa Geothermal Valley, spanning 70 hectares in Rotorua. Home to the iconic Pōhutu geyser, bubbling mud pools, hot springs, and silica formations, Te Puia is full of natural wonders. Manuhiri (visitors) can also explore the native Kiwi bird and the prestigious national schools of wood carving, weaving and stone and bone carving. For over 170 years, we have been sharing these taonga (treasures) with manuhiri and proudly continue this tradition today.
As an iwi-owned business operating under the NZ Māori Arts and Crafts Vesting Act 2020, we have a longstanding tradition of welcoming manuhiri from around the world to experience the magic of Te Whakarewarewa Thermal Valley. Our core values of manaakitanga (hospitality) and kaitiakitanga (guardianship) guide everything we do, ensuring that every visitor is treated with respect and becomes part of our whānau (family). We are dedicated to protecting and preserving the natural and cultural treasures of Te Puia for future generations.
