KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

To maintain a pleasant, clean, safe and homely environment

  • The residents' rooms are kept clean and tidy according to the cleaning schedule.

  • Bathrooms, showers and toilets are kept clean and tidy according to the cleaning schedule.

  • Work areas such as sluice rooms, laundry, kitchen are kept clean and tidy

  • Dining room and lounge are kept clean and tidy.

  • Laundry is processed according to the laundry policies and procedures.

  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel for prompt resolution.

  • Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to prevent the spread of illnesses and maintain a healthy environment.

  • Respect the privacy and dignity of residents while performing cleaning tasks in their living areas.

  • Work closely with other staff members, including caregivers and maintenance personnel, to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.

  • Adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines set forth by health and safety authorities and the facility management.

  • Be available to work flexible hours, including weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the needs of the facility and its residents.

  • Provide friendly and courteous service to residents and visitors when interacting with them during cleaning duties.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.

  • Report any accidents or incidents and implement preventive measures.

  • Communicate effectively with residents and their families, addressing any concerns related to cleaning services.

  • Conduct internal audits that pertain to cleaning according to the audit schedule.

  • Attendance and a positive contribution to staff meetings is required.

  • To follow sound basic hygiene and infection control principles particularly in relation to hand washing.

  • To develop professionally. This includes attendance of annual Education and training sessions as per our schedule and legislative requirements, one of which must be fire and health and safety.

  • To perform other duties as may be reasonably required to maximise the Resident's safety and sense of wellbeing.

  • To participate in annual performance appraisals.

  • Adhere to Health and Safety Policies. Report any hazards and incidents and accidents. Cooperate with any investigations. Attend relevant training.

  • To be aware of the Health and Disability Commissioners code of rights.

WAGES: The hourly rate is as per individual contracts
