We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join a leading organisation operating across high-risk environments. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact by supporting operational teams and contractors in achieving safety excellence across large-scale infrastructure and service delivery projects.

About the role

As the Health and Safety Advisor, you'll provide professional WHS leadership and support across the business, ensuring compliance and driving continuous improvement. You'll work closely with operational teams and contractors to identify, manage, and control risk across multiple high-risk sites.

This 2-year fixed term role can be based in Dargaville or Whangarei and is a visible role with site presence required.  

  • Provide practical and professional Health and Safety advice to operational teams.
  • Lead and participate in incident investigations, audits and risk assessments.
  • Support the development, implementation and review of HSE systems and procedures.
  • Oversee and coordinate Contractor Management ensuring compliance with WHS requirements.
  • Foster a strong safety culture through engagement, communication and training.
  • Monitor performance and recommend strategies for continuous improvement.

Skills and experience 

  • Cert IV WHS or higher
  • Demonstrated experience in high-risk industry (e.g. utilities, energy, construction or infrastructure)
  • Proven expertise in contractor management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Full, clean NZ driver's licence
