About the role

NZUE Group is seeking an experienced and hands-on Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team based in Mount Wellington, Auckland.

As the Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in managing the financial operations across multiple region, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely financial reporting to support strategic decision-making.

This is a full-time role suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced international business environment, with a strong sense of ownership and attention to detail.

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, intercompany reconciliation, and month-end closing.
• Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and external stakeholders.
• Oversee group budgeting, cashflow forecasting, and cost-control processes to support management decisions.
• Ensure tax and compliance obligations (GST, PAYE, income tax, transfer pricing documentation, etc.) are met across entities.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure financial integrity and compliance.
• Collaborate closely with external auditors, advisors, and banks to support audits and funding requirements.
• Lead process improvement initiatives — implementing digital tools (Xero, ApprovalMax, Kingdee, or similar) to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Partner with management to provide financial insights and support key commercial projects in e-commerce, logistics, and distribution.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• CA / CPA qualification (or working towards it).
• Minimum 5 years' experience in an accounting or finance management role, ideally within trading, logistics, or FMCG industries.
• Strong technical knowledge of NZ GAAP and tax compliance.
• Proven ability to handle multi-entity, cross-border accounting operations.
• High proficiency in Xero and strong Excel/data-analysis skills.
• Detail-oriented, organised, and able to prioritise under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across cultures and time zones.
• A proactive and solutions-driven mindset.
• Proficiency in both English and Chinese (written and spoken) is essential — ability to read, interpret, and prepare financial or business documents in Chinese is required.
