Broadlands Finance is seeking a confident and experienced Collections & Legal Manager to take ownership of our overdue accounts function and help strengthen our recovery processes. This is a key position within a growing finance company—ideal for someone who is proactive, organised, and skilled at balancing firm decisions with fair customer outcomes.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Managing the end-to-end collections process across our lending portfolio, ensuring timely and effective follow-up of overdue accounts.
  • Leading customer engagement – from early-stage repayment conversations through to escalated recovery action.
  • Overseeing disputes and legal workflows, including preparing documentation, coordinating with external legal partners, and supporting dispute resolution processes.
  • Identifying risks early, monitoring account behaviour, and recommending appropriate strategies.
  • Improving systems and processes to strengthen recovery rates and customer experience.
  • Maintaining accurate records in FinConnect and other internal systems.
  • Collaborating with compliance and legal teams, ensuring all actions meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience in collections, credit control, legal recovery, or financial services.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and decision-making ability.
  • Confidence dealing with difficult conversations while remaining fair, respectful, and solutions-focused.
  • Experience with FinConnect (preferred but not essential).
  • Excellent organisational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Someone reliable, motivated, and comfortable taking ownership of their portfolio.
  • A proactive mindset – able to spot issues early and drive improvements.
