Branch Manager United Steel - Levin

Hit the ground running in 2026 in this outstanding role as the hands-on leader for the Levin Branch of United Steel, part of the United Industries group of companies.

You will be leading a business that supplies mesh, reinforcing, and structural steel into the Lower North Island (including Hawke's Bay).

This is a high impact role with the autonomy to  lead by example to grow your own Branch.

What you will do:

  • Lead and develop a multi-skilled team of ~10 (sales, admin, warehouse, distribution).
  • Own branch performance: profitability, DIFOTIS, customer satisfaction, sales growth, margin, operational efficiency, stock and logistics.
  • Actively sell to and service key customers.
  • Drive safety, standards and continuous improvement.
  • Report to the Group CFO with direct influence on business decisions.

What you will bring:

  • Proven success in leading a branch operation or similar. Exposure to the building materials supply industry would be advantageous.
  • Strong sales/customer focus and people skills.
  • Solid business/operations nous e.g. P&L, stock control, budgeting, team performance.
  • Distribution/logistics experience well regarded.
  • Energy, a self-motivated can-do attitude, and leads by example.
