Assistant Financial Analyst

As an Assistant Financial Analyst, you'll play a vital part in forecasting, analysing, and reporting on grower payments - critical financial outputs that inform Zespri management, the Board, and the wider industry. You'll work closely with Financial Analysts to model payment types, forecast seasonal cashflows, and contribute to recommendations for discretionary fruit payments. This hands-on role involves:

• Supporting accurate forecasting and analysis of fruit, service, and incentive payments (over $3 billion).
• Communicating forecast payments through industry publications and presentations.
• Providing data and analysis to internal teams and external auditors.
• Reviewing and reconciling payment system data and general ledger transactions.
• Preparing annual audit confirmations and industry payments as required.
• Responding to supplier queries and documenting processes for continuous improvement.
• Contributing to ad hoc financial analysis and broader project work.

This role is commencing mid-January 2026.

You're detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to grow your finance career. You bring:

• A tertiary qualification in business, accounting, or finance (preferred).
• 1–2 years' experience in a similar finance or analyst role.
• Strong Excel, database, and reporting skills; experience with accounting software and forecasting tools.
• Exposure to large ERP systems and business intelligence tools (e.g., SAP, SAC) is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• A genuine team player who thrives in a collaborative environment 
• A drive for results, adaptability to change, and a customer-centric mindset.
