About the Role:

EPL Group (Elastomer Products) is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to support the smooth operation at their manufacturing facility in Christchurch. This hands-on role involves maintaining, repairing, and improving a wide range of mechanical equipment associated with the manufacturing process.

You'll be part of a team that prides itself on precision, safety, and collaboration. If you have strong mechanical know-how and enjoy solving problems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and breakdown maintenance on extrusion machinery
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and fabrication-related issues
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and efficiently
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
  • Maintain accurate records, computer literacy

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills – verbal and written
  • Organized, tidy, and self-motivated
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Trade Certificate or NZQA Level 4 (or equivalent)
  • Hands-on experience with workshop machinery
  • General fabrication, MIG and TIG welding skills
  • Pneumatic system experience preferred
  • CNC, manual milling and turning an advantage
