About us

Essence of the Pacific Early Learning Centre is strengthening its learner focus and preparing to re-introduce under-twos. We are hiring a passionate ECE Manager and an inspiring ECE Teacher to help build a high-quality, culturally grounded centre.

Key Responsibilities

Relationship Management

  • Lead culture, staffing, rosters, and daily operations; model professionalism and trust.
  • Maintain compliant systems: policies, internal evaluation, appraisal, incident and Health and Safety reporting.
  • Plan and chair meetings on operations, risks, and results.

Curriculum and Quality

  • Ensure programme design, assessment, planning, and evaluation align with Te Whāriki and reflect children's identities, languages, and cultures.
  • ICT-enabled teaching (Storypark).
  • Uphold Our Code, Our Standards (Teaching Council) and a learner-focused licence.

Te Tiriti and Pasifika

  • Demonstrate commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi; integrate te reo me ōna tikanga.
  • Champion Pasifika frameworks and languages; partner with Pacific families and community.

Compliance, Finance and Reporting

  • Meet requirements of the Education and Training Act 2020, ECE Regulations and Licensing Criteria, Funding Handbook, ERO and funder audits.
  • Oversee RS7/census and platform accuracy (Infocare).

Health, Safety and Child Protection

  • Ensure Health and Safety compliance (hazard checks, drills, sleep, excursions, medicines HS3–HS28).
  • Lead child protection (HS31/HS34); maintain safe ratios and supervision.

Partnerships and Community

  • Engage parents and whānau in aspirations and planning; strengthen school and agency links (MoE, ERO, MSD/WINZ, Health NZ/Public Health).

About you

  • Fully qualified and Teaching Council registered.
  • Experience with Pasifika children, families, and communities; knowledge of a Pasifika language and confidence to integrate it in practice.
  • Strong grasp of Te Whāriki and ECE regulations; excellent communication; team-oriented.
