This organisation started as a small GP clinic and has grown to be the Largest kaupapa Māori healthcare organisation in the Western Bay of Plenty, including two GP Clinics with supporting services Pēpi Ora/Well Child, Kaupapa Māori Nurse Services, Oral Health Programs, Mental Health & Whānau Centred Services.
Te Manu Toroa aims to contribute to the health of their community by being responsive to their holistic health needs, through a kaupapa Māori framework. By achieving a state of total and complete health, they know their clients can be confident in themselves to live life to the fullest and to engage in the wider world
About the Role:
This is a permanent, full-time role within the Community Services and Development team this role is open to Registered Nurse with minimum five (5) years' experience (cond. apply). You will be responsible for providing essential healthcare services to the community, with a particular focus on Long-term conditions including Cardiac Health and Education.
You will confidently conduct health assessments for Clients and provide appropriate interventions as required. As well as developing and implementing health promotion initiatives to support the overall wellbeing of Clients and their Whanau.
With access to the fleet of company vehicles from either the Tauranga or Papamoa clinics, you will need to work collaboratively within a muti-disciplinary team to meet the needs of our community.
- Delivering high-quality health assessments and interventions for our clients and their whānau (family).
- Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure integrated care delivery for clients with long term health conditions.
- Facilitating empowerment for self-management
- Providing education and support to whānau to improve general health practices.
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and documentation in accordance with professional standards.

- Registered Nurse with a current practicing certificate
- Experienced in working with Long-term conditions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in conducting health assessments and developing care plans
- Knowledge of best practices guidelines and current health pathways
- Demonstrated understanding of cultural safety and competence in working with Māori communities
- Commitment to upholding professional standards and ethical practice.
