Senior Product Designer
Auckland (Hybrid)
Design lovable product experiences for life's most important financial moments.
About FileInvite
At FileInvite, we're redefining how lending organisations around the world collect and protect information to improve their customer experience and grow their business. Backed by a talented and experienced team, we're scaling fast into the US and making a big impact as a lean, high-growth tech startup focused on improving lives by helping financial institutions scale responsibly while reducing stress for borrowers.
Now we're on the hunt for a Senior Product Designer to take our SaaS product experience to the next level.
Why join us?
Document collection sits at a critical friction point in financial services. It can make or break a customer's experience and directly impacts conversion rates and operational efficiency for our clients. Your design work will have immediate, measurable impact: reducing drop-off rates, accelerating time-to-completion, and building trust in sensitive financial interactions. It is vital that you have had previous SaaS experience.
You'll be shaping the entire product experience - from the client-facing collection interface to the complex internal workflow tools that lending officers rely on daily. The design patterns and systems you establish now become the foundation as we grow.
We believe you grow great companies by growing great people, and we're intentional about creating a culture where that happens.
Our values guide how we work:
- Lean into the stretch – We back curiosity, bold ideas and growth
- Foster belonging – Everyone has a voice. Everyone has space
- Hustle for impact – We move fast in smart ways
- Be bravely open – Honest conversations, clear decisions, shared ownership
If this sounds like the kind of team you want to build with, please keep reading.
The Role
We're searching for a talented, hands-on Senior Product Designer who cares deeply about customer and business impact and craft. Someone who thrives in discovery, is a deep UX thinker who loves simplifying complexity, can bring the polish of consumer internet experiences to bear, and is excited to help shape the next generation of FileInvite's product.
You'll own the end-to-end design process: research for valuable insights, journey mapping, UX and IA prototyping, testing, championing design internally, and delivering polished UI that create impactful outcomes for our users.
This is an individual contributor role with big influence. You'll help define our product evolution and design direction, evolve our design system, and use AI tools appropriately to create value for customers, efficiently. You'll work closely with Product, Engineering, Customer Success and Sales to bring new ideas to life.
FileInvite offers flexible work options with 2-3 office-based days per week.
Please note that the anticipated soonest start date for this role is 19 January 2025.
What You'll Do
- Lead end-to-end product design across discovery, UX, IA and UI.
- Turn complex B2B financial and workflow problems into intuitive, consumer-grade user experiences.
- Run design research, workshops, user testing and leverage AI to validate ideas early.
- Develop, maintain and advocate for our design system and reusable components.
- Help shape processes that support quality, speed and consistency.
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering for clear, collaborative handoff.
- Champion customer-centricity and act as the key contact for Product Design.
What You'll Bring
- Proven track record in crafting interfaces for SaaS platforms, with a focus on usability and workflow efficiency
- 8+ years of product design experience, with at least 3 years designing B2C or dense but simple B2B SaaS product experiences
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design process - from research and exploration through to shipped products with measurable outcomes
- Experience conducting user research and translating insights into actionable design decisions that drive impact for users and the business
- Deep understanding of information architecture and UX design, interaction design patterns, UI and usability principles
- Ability to design for multiple user types within a single product (administrators, end users, support teams, managers)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills: you can articulate design rationale, give and receive feedback constructively, and bring stakeholders along in the design process. You engage positively with stakeholders and peers to Foster Belonging.
- Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including component libraries, prototyping, and design systems
- Understanding of technical constraints and how to work effectively with engineers
- Actively exploring how AI can accelerate design work - from research synthesis to design exploration to content generation - with a practical understanding of where AI adds value and where human judgment remains essential
Advantageous to have
- Experience in fintech, regulated industries, B2C platforms, B2B collaboration interfaces
- Background in designing for mobile-responsive or mobile-first experiences
- Experience in a startup where you navigated rapid change and contributed across different areas
You don't need to meet every requirement.
Research shows that while men apply for jobs when they meet roughly 60 percent of the criteria, women and individuals from diverse backgrounds often only apply when they check every box.
So if you think you have the skills and mindset to succeed here, but are not sure you match everything listed, we still want to hear from you.
What We Offer
We're committed to building a workplace where great people can do their best work and feel supported as they grow.
You'll enjoy:
- A competitive salary package
- Employee Share Option Programme
- Wellness days every quarter to reset, recharge and look after yourself
- Flexible hybrid working, designed to support balance and belonging
- A values-driven culture that actually walks the talk
- The opportunity to deeply shape a global SaaS product used across international markets
- A team that cares about your growth just as much as your output
