Mo te tunga | About the role

The Frontline Technology Systems upgrade is a programme of work to upgrade digital technologies across Oranga Tamariki. Frontline Technology Systems upgrade will be replacing legacy systems such as CYRAS and exploring how Oranga Tamariki improve the ability to support quality social work practice, collaboration, record information, contribute to the design and development of the technology and generate data for monitoring and reporting, whilst recognising that digital systems need to be designed with best practice approaches, useability and analytic functionality.

The purpose of the Senior Advisor Practice Enablers is to contribute to the provision of specialist practice expertise to the Frontline Technology Systems upgrade. In this role, you will manage one or more specialist portfolios and contribute to the design and development of frontline technology that supports best practice and positive outcomes for tamariki, rangatahi and wh nau.

Ng pumanawatanga ou | What you will bring

Key requirements of the role include:

  • A tertiary qualification or equivalent relevant experience is essential.
  • Current and direct practice or relevant operational delivery experience in a Service Delivery role.
  • Strong written communication skills and experience in report writing.
  • Ability to actively apply knowledge of te reo M ori, tikanga and build knowledge of te Ao M ori.
  • Knowledge of business processes and the dynamics of the delivery activities of the business lines of Oranga Tamariki.
  • Knowledge and experience of contemporary issues in social services delivery.
  • Experience in a public sector organisation in a role requiring consultation, communication and relationship management skills.
  • Strong child centred perspective and an enduring focus on improving outcomes.
  • Ability to employ deep analytical and critical thinking skills and use breakthrough methods to find innovative solutions to significant and challenging problems.
  • Excellent relationship management skills - able to establish, build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of Oranga Tamariki, as well as with key stakeholders.
  • A clean, current driver's licence is essential and a willingness to drive the Ministry's vehicles.

  • Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga M ori, and Pacific peoples culture

Annual remuneration for this position starts between $106,416 and $117,782 dependant on experience.
