Based in Whanganui, Ohakune or Taihape (covering the Ruapehu catchment), the Navigator works directly with tamariki, rangatahi, and their whānau to address barriers to school attendance.

The role involves outreach, whānau engagement, case management, and partnership with schools and community services to support consistent attendance and wellbeing.

Ideal applicants will have:

  • A relevant qualification or experience in social services, youth, or education work.
  • Ability to engage confidently with whānau, schools, and community networks.
  • Cultural competency and understanding of Te Ao Māori and Pacific worldviews.
  • A full NZ driver's licence and flexibility to travel.

This role is subject to a clean police vet as required under the New Zealand Children's Act. Only applicants with New Zealand working rights will be considered.
