Community Centres and Halls Venue Attendant

We currently have a casual, as required, vacancy for an active and enthusiastic individual who loves to be part of the action, to join our Community Centres and Halls Team as a Venue Attendant and general all-rounder across the business unit.

In this role you will be responsible for assisting in the operation and staffing of the Arataki Community Centre, Papamoa Community Centre, Papamoa Sport and Recreation Centre, our eight Halls and Bookings Admin. Tasks will include undertaking general site maintenance, assisting in the set up/pack down of equipment for a wide range of different activities and events, assisting with event organisation, reception and booking duties, facility supply top ups, customer service tasks, undertaking minor projects relating to the sites, and cleaning of the venues and equipment as required.

To be successful you must:

- Demonstrate excellent communication skills with a high attention to detail
- Be a committed team player, who is able to act in a proactive manner
- Be physically fit as some heavy lifting is required
- Have the ability to retain professional demeanor and think clearly when under pressure
- Maintain a high standard of personal presentation

Experience in recreation or working in or with community groups would be advantageous but is not necessary.

We are looking for an individual who can assist with a wide range of duties in the Centres and the Halls, providing cover for annual leave and sick leave, as well as completing minor projects that arise across the business unit. There may be the occasional weekend or evening shift required. Flexibility is essential as this is determined by business demands.
