We're looking for a commercially savvy Finance Business Partner to join our Financial Services team in Hornby. In this role, you'll be the "face of finance" - translating numbers into meaningful insights that drive operational performance. You'll work closely with senior leaders across the business, providing financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting support, and strategic input to help shape decisions and improve outcomes. You'll report directly to the Operations Finance Manager and collaborate with teams across operations, finance, and commercial functions.

This is a hands-on role where you'll influence financial control, asset utilisation, and process improvement, while also supporting governance and risk management. You'll be a trusted advisor, helping operational leaders understand their financial drivers and empowering them to make informed decisions.

A bit about you

You are a confident and commercially astute finance professional with a proven ability to influence and guide decision-making at senior levels. With several years' experience in business partnering, you're comfortable navigating complex financial landscapes and thrive in environments where challenge and change are part of the rhythm. You bring a strong analytical mindset and a natural ability to translate financial data into meaningful insights that drive performance.

You're not afraid to ask the tough questions, push back when needed, and hold your ground in discussions that matter. Your approach is collaborative and respectful, but you know when to stand firm to ensure the best outcomes for the business. You're driven by continuous improvement, and your ability to build trusted relationships across teams makes you a valued partner in any setting.

A bit about the organisation

Westland Milk Products is a well-known New Zealand end-to-end dairy manufacturer based in the beautiful South Island, with offices and production facilities in Christchurch and Hokitika. This role sits within the Financial Services business unit, which plays a critical role in supporting the financial health and strategic direction of the organisation.

Owned by the global Top 5 dairy company Yili Group, Westland Milk Products is part of the Yili Oceania group, which includes Oceania Dairy (Glenavy), Pure Nutrition (Rolleston), Canary Foods (Hamilton), and EasiYo (Auckland). Together, the group produces over 170,000mt of finished goods exported to more than 40 countries, driving annual revenue well in excess of $1.3B - and growing.
