Christchurch Central, New Zealand UniMed Full time

Enabling happier, healthier people so our nation can thrive.

We're looking for a Relationship Manager who can build strong, strategic partnerships, use technology and insights effectively, and deliver exceptional service that drives results. If you're commercially savvy, relationship-focused, and passionate about supporting the health and wellbeing of working New Zealanders, we'd love to hear from you.

About UniMed - Mō Mātou

UniMed is a not-for-profit, member-focused organisation that specialises in providing workplace health insurance and services to many of New Zealand's best-known companies and their employees.

Our vision is to enable healthier, happier people so our nation can thrive. Our goal is to be a preferred and trusted health, safety and wellbeing partner of New Zealand businesses and their people and whānau.

About the Role - Mō te Tūranga Mahi

As Relationship Manager for the South Island, you'll be the professional face of UniMed for our group scheme members and administrators. You'll build trusted partnerships with corporate clients, brokers, and members — ensuring they receive exceptional support and service at every stage, from onboarding to renewals and beyond.

You'll manage a diverse portfolio across multiple channels – including direct customers, intermediaries, and members – tailoring your approach based on client tier and needs. You'll combine high-touch, in-person relationship management with digital tools and data-drive insight to provide proactive, efficient support.

You'll work closely with our Key Relationships Manager, to help shape account strategies, contribute insights, and drive measurable outcomes like retention, growth and customer satisfaction. This is a role for someone who enjoys being out in the field, travelling regularly to meet clients, and representing a brand built on service excellence, trust and care.

About You - Mōu

You're a natural relationship-builder who combines commercial acumen with genuine care for your clients. You can hold strategic conversations, interpret data, and use insights to inform your approach. You're adaptable, tech-savvy and motivated by achieving meaningful outcomes for both clients and UniMed.

You'll bring:

  • Proven experience in managing and growing client or portfolio relationships

  • A consultative, commercially minded approach focused on results, not just activity

  • Strong communication and presentation skills across different engagement channels

  • Confidence using digital tools and CRM systems to manage insights and workflows

  • The ability to juggle multiple accounts and priorities with professionalism across a varied customer base

  • A collaborative mindset, with the self-motivation to work independently when needed

Experience in health insurance or health services is an advantage, but more important is your ability to build trust, deliver results, and represent UniMed with credibility and care.

Why Join UniMed - Ngā Hua Ki UniMed

At UniMed, we're committed to supporting our employees to thrive, and delivering on our goal of being the happiest, healthiest workplace in Aotearoa. Our employees enjoy:

  • Comprehensive health insurance from day one
