Our client, a well-established multisite New Zealand organisation, is seeking an exceptional Head of Health, Safety & Wellbeing to lead their safety agenda and champion a culture where people truly come first.

About the Role

As the Head of Health, Safety & Wellbeing, you will report to the General Manager of Human Resources and take full ownership of the organisation's HSW strategy. You will:

  • Develop, refine and implement a national HSW strategy across a diverse operational environment
  • Lead and mentor a geographically dispersed HSW team
  • Drive continuous improvement and uplift safety capability across all levels of the organisation
  • Partner with senior leaders to influence safe decision-making and embed strong safety behaviours
  • Oversee critical risk management, compliance, auditing and reporting frameworks
  • Lead wellbeing programmes that support engagement, resilience and retention
  • Represent the organisation with regulators, industry groups and key external stakeholders

This is a role where your strategic thinking, operational understanding and passion for people will make a genuine impact.

About You

You'll be an experienced HSW leader with a track record of success in complex, multisite or national organisations. You bring:

  • Strong leadership experience within Health, Safety & Wellbeing
  • A deep understanding of operational risk and critical safety controls
  • Confidence influencing executive teams and guiding frontline leaders
  • A collaborative, people-centred approach
  • Experience developing high-performing safety teams
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and coaching skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety or a related discipline
