Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | The opportunity
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Head of Business Technologies to join our agile and dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and advancing the School of Business Technologies and its programmes. Primarily based at our Auckland CBD Campus but overseeing operations across all our campuses, the Head of Business Technologies will manage and lead all programmes from Diploma to Masters level.
Additionally, you will oversee the line management of tutors including tasks such as timetabling, professional development and performance appraisals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work closely with our internal and external stakeholders
• Provide strategic leadership in the creation and development of innovative, future-focused programmes across business and technology disciplines
• Develop strong partnerships and agreements with external providers, organisations and industry partners
• Manage a team of Tutors and Lecturers across both Business and Technology programmes
• Manage the moderation processes for all our Business and Technology School programmes
• Work closely with the Group Academic Director in creating professional development plans
• Oversee, coordinate and participate in research, research plans and Industry projects and opportunities that exist for external funding
• Represent The School of Business and Technology at industry events, expos and forums
• Foster integration and synergies between business and technology programme offerings
Ko koe tēnei | About you
• Previous experience leading and running a School of Business and/or Technology in New Zealand at a tertiary level
• Former Technology Leader, Academic Leader, 21C, Head of School or similar – Leadership role
• Business and/or Technology education background with understanding of industry convergence
• Tertiary qualified with a PhD in Business, Technology, or related field
• Strong industry connections
• Experience with developing new programmes, moderations and QA
• Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
• NZ Certificate in Adult Teaching Level 5 or above
• Understanding of current business trends and technological innovations in the New Zealand context
