Super Liquor Masterton is currently looking for an experienced Retail Assistant, Duty manager to assist the Store Manager in the day-to-day operations of the store. We are looking for a self-motivated person who can go a few extra miles to grow the business.

We provide a comprehensive training program and products for our people that covers the brand, products, customer service, and other relevant training required to work in one of our stores.

To be successful you will need to have:

  • Proven customer service and sales experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Relevant qualification (level 2 or above) or two year or relevant work experience.
  • Numeracy skills and basic computer literacy are required.
  • Good oral/written communication skills.
  • LCQ and manager certificate preferred.
  • Full Driver License.
  • Forklift License (Preferred)
  • Ability to do Weekend work/Public Holiday work and some split shifts.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads if required.
  • Be relatively fit, as the role is physical
  • Must be over 20 years old

The role will require you to work as per Roster, evenings, and weekends in a multi-faceted retail environment.

You'll be given a comprehensive induction program and ongoing training

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensuring compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Manage the licensed premises for smooth operation daily.
  • Purchase stock based on sale, per stock level and market popularity.
  • Ensure the stocks are accurately priced
  • Periodically organize and participate in stock takes
  • Ensure that check-in and check-out reports of stocks are accurately receipted/invoiced.
  • Set up systems to protect and maintain control of store service equipment.
  • Organize, plan and execute special promotions and remain competitive in pricing by adjusting

    profit margin in accordance with stock levels.
  • Ensure efficient, friendly and professional service is provided to all customers and deal with

    customer dissatisfaction.
  • Organize proper training for the junior or new staff members and provide supervision and

    guidance where required.
  • Ensure continuous compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable liquor legislation.
  • Developing and maintaining a professional and cooperative relationship with suppliers.
  • Looking for opportunities to improve procedures and make improvements where appropriate, particularly purchasing and marketing policies and service standards.
  • Developing effective marketing strategies to ensure business profitability.
  • Promoting and advertising the store's goods and services.
  • Selling goods to customers, advising and recommending products and on products.
  • Sales and delivery of business accounts
  • Following up on customer complaints/comments quickly.
  • Maintaining records of financial transactions, daily cash reconciliation, petty cash and banking.
  • Answering phones promptly.
  • Fulfilling online orders
  • Store Cleaning
