Laboratory Technician

As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our Dunedin laboratory operations, contributing to the integrity and accuracy of our scientific analyses and data. You'll play an important part in helping our lab run smoothly, this will include responsibilities in sample reception, with sample movements and conducting a variety of laboratory tests.    Along with helping to maintain equipment and collaborating with our scientific team.   This position offers an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about science and wants to contribute to impactful projects within an innovative company.   Based at our Central Dunedin facility, this is a full-time, 40 hour per week role.  To support our 7-day operation, please note that the Standard days and hours of work for this position are: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday, from 130pm to 10pm each day.  Scheduled days off each week will be Wednesdays and Thursdays.

• Carefully perform sample reception, distribution to third-party laboratories, preparation and analysis in accordance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
• Accurately record all sample movements within the laboratory information systems and tools.
• Assist laboratory staff with their duties as needed.
• Perform laboratory analyses and experiments in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as necessary.
• Document test procedures, results, and findings accurately and thoroughly.
• Interpret scientific data to a high standard and reports to clients.
• Collaborate with team members to improve processes and methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality control standards.

• A degree in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience is preferred but not essential.
• Experience working in a laboratory environment is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and data analysis software.
• Understanding of laboratory safety protocols and practices.
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to work.
