Senior Systems Engineer - Waikato

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and immediately available Senior Systems Engineer to join a key enterprise team in the Waikato region.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for supporting and implementing critical infrastructure for high reliability, including:

  • Implementing and supporting Microsoft Server OS, Desktop OS, and cloud services (Office365, Azure, AWS).
  • Providing hardware support for data center infrastructure (e.g., Cisco, HP, DELL, NetApp).
  • Troubleshooting complex technical faults and resolving problems.
  • Implementing new systems and infrastructure components.
  • Monitoring infrastructure systems (e.g., backups) and managing system capacity.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation.
Requirements - The Technical Foundation

We require proven experience in medium to large-scale projects and a strong foundation in enterprise systems.

Essential Skills

  • One major certification is essential (e.g., MSP, MCSE, CNE, VCP, Cisco Certification).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft OS, desktop, and cloud services (Office365, Azure, AWS).
  • Strong understanding of desktop, server, and network connections.
  • Expertise in Core Microsoft technologies (AD, DNS, DHCP, Printing).
  • Proficiency in Virtualization (VMWare, Hyper-V) and Storage (SAN, DAS, NAS).
  • Experience with Data protection tools (Veeam, Commvault, ASR, etc.).
  • Skills in Windows deployment, patching, and PowerShell scripting.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft applications (Exchange, SQL, SharePoint) and monitoring tools (SCCM, SCOM).
Contract Details
  • Duration: 6-month fixed-term contract (FTC).
  • Salary: upto $130K annually (pro-rata).
  • Location: Morrinsville (Hybrid: 2 days onsite / 3 days remote).
