We have an opportunity for an experienced leader to join our Workload Automation team as Platform Lead (12 month fixed term opportunity).

The Workload Automation team is responsible for the bank's complex file transfer platform. We own, manage, and continually enhance this critical platform, ensuring secure, reliable, and compliant file transfers across the organization. Our goal is to provide seamless automation solutions, so teams can focus on their core business without worrying about the underlying transfer infrastructure. In addition, we are building a fresh new platform in AWS, leveraging cloud-native technologies to further strengthen our capabilities and future-proof secure file transfer and automation across the bank.

What are 5 day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?

• Collaborate across Platforms and Engineering to drive the vision for workload automation and secure file transfer, focusing on platform reliability, roadmap development, and customer outcomes.

• Support and guide the team through complex technical challenges, ensuring the platform meets high standards for security, compliance, and operational excellence.

• Maintain both a Run and Grow portfolio of work, leveraging tools such as Teams & Jira to ensure timely delivery within SLA guidelines.

• Provide people leadership, guidance, and upskilling-helping team members grow in their roles and adapt to evolving technology.

• Communicate and collaborate effectively across technology teams to achieve strategic outcomes for the bank.

This is a high-impact team, working at the heart of the bank's operations. In this role, you'll tackle complex challenges in secure file transfer and automation, directly supporting the bank's mission and customer needs.

What technical skills are required for this role?

• Product Ownership Experience: Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role, ideally in automation or integration platforms.

• People Leadership: Experience leading and developing technical teams in a complex, regulated environment.

• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of secure file transfer protocols, automation tools, and platform architecture.

• Backlog Management: Expertise in creating, prioritizing, and managing a product backlog for critical infrastructure.

• Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to use data and KPIs to inform prioritization and product decisions.

• Agile Methodologies: Proficient in agile practices, including sprint planning and user story development.
