Cable Jointer Team Leader
We're looking for an experienced Cable Jointer Team Leader
to carry out cable jointing work, provide technical support and lead a small
field team through the full lifecycle of contracting projects from planning,
through delivery, to closeout. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to
someone who enjoys guiding others, solving problems, and ensuring work is
completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead
and support a field-based team of tradespeople, technical staff, and
trainees
- Work
closely with Project Managers, Delivery Managers, Schedulers,
Subcontractors, and Customers
- Manage
daily workloads to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget,
and to required standards
- Install,
replace, and repair underground, overhead, and substation cable assets and
ancillary equipment
- Joint
and terminate cables up to 33kV and complete assembly of pillars, junction
boxes, RMUs, and transformers
- Oversee
excavation and reinstatement for underground cable installation
- Complete
testing, reporting, switching support, and accurate as-built documentation
Experience:
- Minimum
two years' experience in NZ electricity distribution networks
- Experience
working up to 33kV HV cable jointing projects preferred but not essential
- Strong
knowledge of LV and HV systems and zone substations
- Proven
experience planning and delivering jobs or projects
- Effective
leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor a small team
- Strong
problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
- Ability
to organise and plan workload for yourself and others
- Commitment
to HSQE and promoting a strong safety culture
- Good
communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic
computer literacy (Word and Excel)
- Integrity,
consistency, and a strong customer focus
