Job DescriptionHe angituutanga: The opportunity
In this role you will support the delivery of effective communication and engagement initiatives, provide administrative support, and take on your own projects.
From working with designers, booking media ads, writing stories, organising invoices and publishing web content, you will execute a variety of tactics across all our channels.
Some of the key outcomes are:
- Coordinate communication and marketing collateral and tactics.
- Contribute to Council's online communication channels, including updating websites, social media, and media monitoring.
- Assist in the maintenance, monitoring and administration of Council's logo, branding guidelines, proactively manage our extensive filing system, and contribute to improving internal processes.
- Support the delivery of innovative and effective engagement activities.
You will ideally bring 1-2 years' experience in a similar role, but this role could also suit a new graduate ready to make an impact. You will be joining a talented, collaborative and professional team.
This is a full-time fixed term opportunity to 30 June 2026.

- Fantastic oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to anticipate requirements and adapt quickly.
- Highly organised and great at managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- High level of motivation, initiative, and proactive drive.
- Ability to pick-up new tools and technology quickly.
- An eye for branding and marketing and great attention to detail.
- Creativity and passion about understanding and engaging with our community.
- Flexible and available to work some weekends and evenings.
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field.
Circa $63,000 dependent on skills and experience.
