Owned by The Allan Webb Theatre Trust and operated by The Theatre Beautiful Ltd, the Regent continues to inspire, connect and entertain.
About the Role
The Theatre Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site leadership role for someone with a genuine passion for cinema and creating exceptional public experiences. You'll play a key role in bringing the magic of film to life, ensuring every visitor feels welcome and engaged. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Regent Theatre, you'll ensure it runs smoothly, safely, and sustainably while leading a team of dedicated staff and volunteers and upholding high standards across operations, facilities, and customer service.
Reporting to the Board of The Theatre Beautiful Ltd, you will oversee all operational areas including facilities management, health and safety, financial reporting, staff leadership and community engagement. You'll also support the Board to implement systems and initiatives that strengthen the Theatre's long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, roster and develop a capable team of Duty Managers, staff and volunteers.
- Ensure safe, efficient and compliant daily operations across all five screens and facilities.
- Manage maintenance, service contracts and technical systems.
- Oversee stock, concessions, banking and monthly operational reporting.
- Support the preparation of budgets and Board reports.
- Maintain and improve systems, policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Drive community engagement, local partnerships and promotional activities.
- Identify and apply for funding or sponsorship opportunities to support Theatre operations.
About You
- You'll bring proven operational management experience from hospitality, events, or entertainment environments and a genuine passion for arts and community.
- You'll be confident managing people, systems and budgets, with the ability to balance operational detail and strategic intent.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving ability.
- Experience in compliance, facilities or technical operations.
- Financial and reporting acumen.
- A collaborative, customer-focused approach.
- A duty managers licence is preferred but not essential.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
