He angitūtanga: About the Role:

We are looking for a Trust Coordinator and Trust Advisor to join our team in Rotorua. These roles are integral to supporting and managing a portfolio of trusts, ensuring high standards of service delivery and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the affairs of each trust.

You will work closely with trustees, owners, and internal specialists to deliver exceptional outcomes for our owners.

The main responsibilities across our trust team includes:

  • Manage and/or support a portfolio of trusts, maintaining a clear understanding of trust affairs.
  • Act as a primary contact for trustees and owners, providing advice and guidance on trust matters.
  • Collaborate with team members and specialists to prepare for owner and trustee meetings, hui, and Māori Land Court hearings.
  • Create and deliver meeting materials, including invitations, presentations, reports, and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare, review, and/or contribute to Māori Land Court applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Respond to enquiries from customers and stakeholders promptly and professionally.
  • Update core administration systems in line with organisational processes.

He kōrero mōu: What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience applying best practice trust management.
  • Confidence and ability to deliver services that enhance the reputation of Te Tumu Paerora and the Māori Trustee.
  • Experience working with trusts, or with iwi is desirable.
  • A genuine care for customers and exceptional customer service skills.
  • Resilience, flexibility, and the ability to think on your feet.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, both internally and externally, with clear verbal and written communication.
  • Experience or an understanding of the rural sector is a plus.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics CRM, SharePoint, and/or M365 is a plus.
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand is essential.
  • Flexibility to travel and work occasional weekends.

  • Pae Tahi- Te Whakahua | A desire and ability to practise correct pronunciation of Te Reo Māori (essential)
  • Pae Rua- Te Whakarongo | An ability to understand Te Reo Māori, a desire and ability to practice correct pronunciation of Te Reo Māori (desired)

Ngā Pae Mōhiotanga Tikanga Māori

  • Pae Tahi- Nō Ia Rā | An understanding and living of Tikanga Māori on a day-to-day level, for example, the removing of shoes before entering a whare, washing hands at the urupa and not sitting on tables (essential)
  • Pae Rua- Te Noho Marae | An understanding and living of Tikanga Māori on a noho marae level. Knowing and practising things such as basic karakia, waiata and one's own pepehā (desired)
