About the role

A.G.A Construction Ltd. is seeking a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team in our Auckland CBD office. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of construction projects by providing accurate cost estimations, contract administration, and financial management support. This full-time position offers opportunities for professional development and the chance to work on a variety of exciting projects within the construction industry.

What you'll be doing

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities for construction projects
  • Analyse tender submissions and provide recommendations on contract awards
  • Manage and administer construction contracts, including processing variations and claims
  • Monitor project budgets and cash flows, providing regular financial reports
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project cost objectives are met
  • Contribute to the development of cost planning and control systems
  • Assist with the preparation of tender documentation and bid submissions
  • Provide support to the project management team as required

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction management discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in the construction industry
  • Excellent understanding of construction contracts, cost management principles, and project delivery processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Proficient in the use of quantity surveying software and MS Office suite
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects and deadlines
  • Membership or eligibility for membership with a professional body, such as the New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NZIQS)
