At Stepping Stone Trust, we support over 700 people each week through residential and community-based services across Canterbury and Otago. Our 275+ staff are committed to delivering care with grace, hope, love, integrity, and teamwork.
About the role
You'll be part of the widerP&C Team, while working day-to-day embedded within our Southern service.
- Coordinating onboarding, offboarding, employment agreements, and compliance.
- Maintaining HR systems and employee records.
- Managing the busy roster for the Southern team.
- Coordinating training sessions and tracking mandatory training.
- Being the first point of contact for HR queries.
- Answering phone calls, responding to email and directing queries to the right people.
- Other general administrative duties.
- Working alongside the wider P&C Team to keep things running smoothly.
About you
Must haves:
- Experience in HR, P&C, or a similar administrative role.
- Familiarity with HR processes such as contracts, onboarding, and compliance.
- Strong administration and organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships.
- Confidence using MS Office and HR systems.
- A proactive, flexible attitude with a strong sense of confidentiality and integrity.
Desirable:
- Experience with rostering.
- Familiarity with Employment Hero.
- Previous experience in a not-for-profit or NGO environment.
- Experience with Excel, Power BI, or similar reporting tools.
