*About the Role:
Our client is a top-tier sports and lifestyle distributor based in New Zealand, representing globally recognized brands in footwear, apparel, and casual wear. They are expanding their wholesale division and seeking an experienced Wholesale Key Account Manager to lead one of their largest accounts and drive their wholesale strategy forward.
This is a high-impact role where you will combine strategic merchandise planning with key account management, inventory oversight, and range development across seasonal cycles. You'll be responsible for building and delivering strong commercial results through data-driven decision making, strategic planning, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- Build seasonal assortments and ranges using structured range "architecture" - aligning SKU levels, forecasting, and replenishment plans
- Lead the full GTM process: from range planning to inventory forecasting, execution, and post-season analysis
- Manage sell-through, margin, inventory levels, and stock flow, ensuring strong commercial performance and minimal risk
- Work closely with planning, catalogue, and supply chain teams to optimise stock allocation and availability
- Analyse data (sell-through, performance metrics, inventory ageing) to refine future buying and replenishment strategies
- Present range strategies and performance reports to the client/buyer in a clear, commercial manner
- Coach and support a junior Key Account Manager within your team
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in wholesale apparel, footwear, or lifestyle goods retail / wholesale
- Strong merchandise planning and forecasting experience; comfortable working with thousands of SKUs per season
- Proven track record building and managing wholesale accounts or buying ranges for large retailers
- Excellent commercial acumen; understands margin management, inventory control, and sell-through optimisation
- Strong data literacy; can interpret sell-through, perform replenishment planning, and manage code counts
- Great communication skills; able to articulate range logic, present to buyers, and negotiate with clarity and confidence
- Proactive, organised, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- NZ working rights are required for this opportunity
