About this role and the Finance Team
The Finance team at WellSouth is preparing for the future of primary and community health care in the South.
Through efficiency, digitisation and mahi the team has reconfigured a traditional accounting role for more impact on the organisation, with business partnering at the fore, scenario planning and support for decision makers.
The CFO leads a team that is dynamic, forward focused and high performing. There is so much going on in the health space, and the Southern region is leading in 'doing things differently'.
As a result we are continually moving forward and the role will include month end reporting to the Senior Leadership Team and the Board, responsibility for partner/subsidiary entities, alongside revenue project-based work and business partnering.
The successful candidate will have an eye for detail, an affinity with numbers, and enjoy working with a very diverse organisation. This role will enable you to support the future development of the Health sector by using digital tools for data, analytics and reporting to support the delivery of health outcomes. The WellSouth Finance team is the engine room of funding for primary and community health – this is no ordinary finance team.

The aim of this position is to support Clinical leadership, allocate financial resources across the region equitably and support accountability of delivery of WellSouth's services. This includes;
- Support WellSouth leaders with business case development and project reviews
- Work alongside WellSouth leaders to add finance strength and value to projects
- Support and develop a culture of continuous improvement of financial processes
- Manage, reconcile and prepare monthly reporting for leaders, Board and external parties
- Prepare budgets, forecasts financial models across the organisation
- Management and support of the Finance systems
The candidates will have:
- Bachelor or Commerce and Graduate Diploma in Accounting (preferred)
- Charted Accountant membership or equivalent body
- Minimum 6 years accounting experience
- Microsoft365 experience, particularly in Excel, PowerBI and Word, at intermediate to advanced levels
- Experience using Financial Management Systems (FMIS)
- Be able to work flexibly with key deadline and reporting periods
- Openness to new technologies and a questioning mind
