Wellington Central, Wellington, New Zealand Dental Personnel Full time

PLEASE DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS ROLE UNLESS YOU ARE ALREADY IN NEW ZEALAND, ARE A NZ CITIZEN OR PERMANENT RESIDENT & HAVE AT LEAST 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE AS A DA IN AUSTRALIA, UK OR NZ.

Client

Our client is one of Wellington's premier dental practices.  It is also one of the oldest, best equipped, and most respected.

Location

Very well located in central Wellington, it's only a 5-minute walk to Queens Wharf, Shed 5, Te Papa, the waterfront and numerous cafes, bars, and shops. It's also only a 10-minute walk from Wellington Central Railway, and on a major bus route, meaning transport is never an issue

Position

We are seeking a skilled and experienced dental assistant to join our client's team early in the New Year. The talented new team member we're seeking will need a minimum of 2 years' experience (preferably more) as a DA in New Zealand (or Australia or UK). We need them to be able to hit the ground running so they are adding value to their dentist, be a genuine team player, and be capable of working well under pressure and in a busy work environment.

Although our new DA will generally be working with an experienced, senior dentist, they will also need to be flexible as they may also need to work with other clinicians from time to time. This is a fast-paced role where two days are rarely the same and genuine patient care is a top priority

Responsibilities

  • Assist Clinicians during dental procedures, such as taking X-rays, sterilising instruments, and preparing materials
  • Maintain strict infection control protocols
  • Greet patients, review medical history and answer queries
  • Provide patient care and education, including best practice oral hygiene techniques
  • Maintain accurate patient records and filing systems (Exact knowledge preferred)
  • Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for use
  • Stock and order dental supplies

Person

  • Minimum of 2+ years previous experience as Dental Assistant
  • Very good knowledge of dental procedures and techniques
  • Strongly patient care focused
  • Excellent English communication
  • Genuine team player
  • Computer literacy, especially Exact dental software (or similar)
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent infection control and sterilisation protocols

Days and Hours hours per week)

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8.15am to 5.30pm (60 minute lunch)

Friday: 8.00am to 1.00pm (no lunch)

Wednesday: Day off

No weekends or late nights

Pay and Benefits

  • Discounted Southern Cross health insurance
  • Ongoing professional development training and education
  • Genuine advancement opportunities
  • Internal company mobility
  • Long service benefits
  • Company discounts at a range of retailers
  • KiwiSaver on top of hourly rate

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented, experienced and committed dental assistant with a strong work ethic who is looking for a new challenge in return for a great job with guaranteed hours, stable and long-term employment, advancement opportunities, and a very competitive, market-driven pay rate

If possible, our client is hoping to get the selection process completed before Christmas with an agreed start date early in the New Year. As such, we're keen to move this process along as quickly as possible.

If you're confident you are a good match for the abovementioned requirements, please APPLY ONLINE as soon as possible, remembering to attach an updated CV (incl. address/contact details) along with a brief COVER LETTER and the completion of the Seek Screening Questions.

Unfortunately, applicants who DO NOT provide a Cover Letter and their Address/Contact Details will be EXCLUDED as these are Mandatory requirements.

Don't delay. Apply online TODAY, and Good luck
