Service Technician

As a result of continued growth, they are seeking an experienced hands-on Service Technician to join their Auckland based team for Installation & Servicing duties on industrial compressed air systems.

About the role:

This is mainly a field-based position visiting new and existing customers, no day will be the same. The major functions of this role are -

• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance on the air compressors and compressed systems of our customers.
• Carry out installations and/or modifications of new and used compressed air equipment.
• Commission new equipment to manufacturer's specification.
• Carry out installation/modification of compressed air reticulation systems to industry best standard levels.
• Attend to breakdown callouts and diagnose and repair faults necessary to restore equipment functions.
• Carry out compressor & compressed air equipment repairs and overhauls as required from time to time.
• Complete all necessary paperwork and record-keeping accurately and in a timely manner to ensure we maintain a high level of service for our customers.
• Show an active commitment to Health & Safety for the benefit of all the staff.

About You

The successful applicant ideally will have: -

• A minimum 3 years' experience within Industrial Compressor, Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical, Automotive or HVAC trades and good understanding of Electrical.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Methodical and clear-thinking processes
• High self-motivation and great personal organization
• First-rate diagnostic skills
• A strong desire to learn new skills
• Significant hands-on experience in scheduled maintenance and fault diagnosis on rotary screw compressors and reciprocating compressors is preferred
• Trade training in appropriate areas of engineering and/or mechanical maintenance is preferred
• Trade training /experience with three phase electric motor maintenance, electrical motor start/control functions and electrical control circuits is preferred.
• EST Electrical qualification preferred.
• Trade training/experience with refrigeration systems would be advantageous.
• A high level of personal accountability and pride in their workmanship.
• A sound knowledge of the engineering principles of compressed air and compressed air usage in commercial environments.
• An ability to develop good relationship with existing and prospective customers based on excellent advice, reliability and integrity.
• Effective time management skills and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
• An ability to communicate well and work collegially with others.
• A strong commitment to great customer service
• A resilient, resourceful and "can-do" approach.
