About the Role

As an intermediate level Quantity Surveyor at Rawlinsons, you will play a critical role assisting with delivery of landmark projects across New Zealand. Based in our Christchurch office, you'll assist the Senior staff members with end-to-end delivery of diverse and high-impact projects.

The following attributes are advantageous:

  • technical proficiency with Building Information Modelling (BIM) and familiarisation with measurement software,
  • a reasonable understanding of the ANZSMM Standard Method of Measurement,
  • a reasonable understanding of construction contracts,
  • cost planning and value management including the evaluation of alternative design against the client's value criteria for function, quality, and durability,
  • understanding change control procedures, and
  • a reasonable understanding of risk identification and management

Qualifications & Experience

We're looking for a driven and experienced professional with:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in Quantity Surveying, with a proven track record in commercial construction and estimating.
  • A tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues and deliver actionable solutions.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative mindset.
  • Strong experience with contract administration, cost management, and value engineering.
  • Professional membership, such as NZIQS or RICS.
  • Experience using take-off / estimating tools, for example CostX.
  • A valid NZ residency or work visa and a current driver's license.
