Graduate Quantity Surveyor

We are looking for a motivated and detail-driven Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join our Christchurch team and support one of New Zealand's most unique and nationally significant infrastructure upgrade programmes. The Role

As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in supporting the commercial and project team on Seipp Construction's multi-year seismic strengthening programme at Benmore Dam - one of Meridian Energy's most critical national assets.

This is a hybrid role, based primarily in our Christchurch head office with regular travel to site. You will gain hands-on experience working across a wide range of commercial functions, including:

• Monthly financial reporting, forecasting, and cost tracking
• Procurement and supply chain coordination
• Contract administration and document control
• Supporting variation documentation and claims preparation
• Assisting PMs and Senior QS with commercial inputs and project controls

You will be immersed in a complex civil infrastructure environment, learning how technical, commercial, and operational drivers come together on a major upgrade involving structural works, temporary works, bespoke access systems, and specialised installation activities.

This is a development-focused role with clear progression pathways, one-on-one mentoring from our Senior QS, and opportunities to grow into increasing responsibility as your capability develops.

About You

You'll bring enthusiasm, curiosity, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced project environment. You will also have:

Experience & Technical Skills

• A Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying (or nearing completion)
• 0-2 years' experience in construction or QS (internships or summer placements a bonus but not essential)
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills
• Good competency in Excel, Word, and basic financial data handling
• A willingness to learn cost management and project control systems
