We're looking for a skilled Child Support Review Officer to join a respected government organisation, helping ensure fair and consistent decisions in line with family law and child support legislation.

This 12-month hourly-rate contract (with the potential to extend) is ideal for someone who enjoys applying legal reasoning, analysis, and empathy to complex situations that directly affect New Zealand families.

Key responsibilities

  • Review and assess child support cases in accordance with family law and statutory frameworks
  • Analyse evidence and apply legislation to reach sound, defensible decisions
  • Communicate outcomes clearly and compassionately, both in writing and verbally
  • Collaborate with colleagues to uphold integrity and fairness in the review process

About you

  • Strong understanding of family law, legal decision-making, or administrative review
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and impartial judgement
  • Experience in government, legal, or case management environments is an advantage
