Mō te tūnga | About the Role
As the Culture & Equity Lead, you will work closely with our Operations Manager and CEO to ensure our services meet the needs of Māori Whaiora. You'll help us strengthen our commitment to hauora Māori, equity, and culturally safe practice.
- Lead the development of culturally grounded strategies and policies.
- Provide expert guidance on tikanga Māori and cultural protocols.
- Build cultural capability across staff and stakeholders.
- Develop equity frameworks to address systemic barriers.
- Engage meaningfully with iwi, hapū, whānau, and community organisations.
- Advise senior leadership and contribute to strategic planning.
- Monitor and report on progress toward cultural and equity goals.
- Create safe spaces (wāhi haumaru) for staff and community support.

- A strong understanding of Te Ao Māori
- Flexibility and openness to all worldviews
- Knowledge of te reo Māori
- Experience in the mental health and addictions sector
- Proven experience in equity, inclusion, or cultural leadership.
- Willingness to work within the Christian values of our organisation
- You must have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa
